Freshwater is a vital commodity for all of us. Urbanisation, industrial development and agricultural needs place demands on our supply. Increasing the supply to meet these demands can have a detrimental effect on the environment and current users. Thus careful monitoring and management is required to ensure future sustainability is achieved.
Local authority resource consent is required to take groundwater and in many cases this consent will require an assessment of environmental effects (AEE). This assessment is made through gaining an understanding of the hydrogeological nature of the underlying aquifer and calculation of specific aquifer parameters.
Services
EAM can assist by providing the following services:
- Supply well location
- Water level monitoring
- Water quality analysis
- Aquifer pump testing (parameter calculations)
- Preparation of AEE documents
- Submission of Resource Consent applications
